Shani Wilson, CNRP, is the founder of Whole Body Health and Wellness, a consultancy that’s committed to helping healthcare operations perform with fidelity. In this role, Shani administers healthcare services to minority populations through Internal Medicine Affiliates, a legacy practice in the West End Community.
Before founding Whole Body Health and Wellness, Shani served as Interim Chief Medical Officer at Alabama Regional Medical Services.
Shani’s experience in medicine and research is extensive, including serving as an intern at the National Institutes of Allergic and Infectious Diseases under Dr. Anthony Fauci. In addition to studying at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (UAB) Ph.D program for Cancer Pathology, Shani earned several academic degrees: Bachelor of Science in Biology, Talladega College; Master in Biology Education, UAB; Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, UAB.
Before practicing full-time as a Nurse Practitioner, Shani gained national recognition for her work as an educator. While serving as the Advance Placement Science Lead Teacher for A+ College Ready, Shani provided leadership and mentoring to advanced placement (AP) Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science teachers at Birmingham City Schools, across the state, and around the country. In this role, Shani defied expectations by increasing the AP qualifying scores by more than 200% in students who were considered to have no AP potential.
For her leadership, Shani was named the National Math and Science Initiative's All-American Teacher of the Year in 2010.
Shani is married to Brandon Wilson. They have one daughter, Kenny Wilson.
