Education Innovation Initiative (EII)

WHAT IF EDUCATION COULD IMPACT THE WHOLE STUDENT… AND THEIR COMMUNITY?

For far too long, advancements in education have been approached through a lens that focuses solely on the needs of students while they are in the classroom. However, ‘student’ is just one of the many titles that they have. They are siblings, children, neighbors, friends and so much more.

The Birmingham Education Foundation believes that in order to impact the whole student, we must also impact the communities they are so deeply connected with. And it all starts with the heartbeat of the community: the school.

The Education Innovation Initiative (EII) places the public school at the epicenter of change. This approach ensures that their public school becomes a central hub for advancing the student, and everything that matters to them.

Through EII, the schools will provide:

Students with access to enrichment and holistic, wraparound services

The ability to connect with Ed’s Community Connector Network — which is composed of providers that connect students and families to services that address barriers to health, wellness, and/or academic performance.

Integration of Ed’s current programs that equitably connect resources to families and communities across Birmingham.

LET’S EDUCATE AND INSPIRE.
