JohnQueta Bailey was raised in Birmingham in the West End neighborhood. She is a product of Birmingham City Schools having graduated from West End High School. She attended Miles College and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Political Science and Kaplan University where she obtained a Masters of Public Administration.
She has been in the nonprofit sector for fifteen years. She is currently the Grants Administrator for the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. Using her experience in the Yes We Can! Birmingham initiative, she works with the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham efforts to increase high-quality early learning opportunities for birth to eight-year-olds, a strategy toward the Result that states: Children Are Successful Along the Education Pipeline. She has an eleven year old son named Omar. She is also a member of Mason Chapel United Methodist Church in Mason City where she serves on the Usher Board.
