    Planned Gifts

Planned giving methods include: wills, life income trusts (a gift that provides the donor or another beneficiary income for life), annuity trusts, Unitrusts, pooled income funds, gift annuities, some forms of life insurance, or commitments of personal property. Your professional advisers can help you explore your best options. The most common form of Planned Gifts are bequests. A bequest is a written direction contained in a will, which disposes of some or all of the property controlled by the will. Through a will, it is possible to give cash, securities, life insurance proceeds, and real and personal property. It is also possible to create a trust through a will. Bequests may be used to establish memorials in honor of the donor, family members or others. Please remember the Birmingham Education Foundation in your will or estate plan and please tell us when you do.
